Menu Review W3

Standard

You can find last weeks menu here

Highlights from the menu:

Definitely the roasted tomato soup. It was amazing.

It took about 1.5 hours to make, but was so worth it. If you have the time, and the ingredients, I say make it!

Disappointments from the menu:

Leaving the tortilla shells on the counter overnight, resulting in stale yucky shells.

Which meant that we couldn’t have burritos.

Not being about to find a mango anywhere. Uber sad

Being lazy and not making quiche.

Being super lazy and not doing the cheesy chicken and rice bake.

This week, the menu will be simple. I can’t wait to plan it!

Side note, Teags favourite thing to say right now is “meow” and “pa” (as in grandpa), which means he wants to go to Grandpas and see the kittens.

So cute!

One day I’ll get a video of him saying it to share with you all!!

Menu review W2

Standard

This week I pretty much failed at following the menu. It was tragic, I put so much time and energy into planning it and yet I hardly followed it.

Lame.

Highlights from the menu

Definitely the meatloaf. It was amazing.

Disappointments from the menu:

not actually following it

Things we didnt get to try:

– french dip sandwiches

– cheddar muffins

– avocado + egg + toast

– burritos

– avocado salad

– crash hot potatoes

– sloppy joes

– cheesy chicken & rice bake.

main reasons why I didn’t follow it.

1. i didn’t have the ingredients.

2. i didn’t write it in my family binder

3. i’m lazy.

This week the menu will consist of things that I have on hand.

Have any recipes you want to share with me?

Leave them in the comments, I’d love to try them!

Menu review W1

Standard

Highlights from our menu:

My favourite was avocado fries, I used this recipe instead of this one.

They were amazing, crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside.

I did make some changes to the recipe, I didn’t have panko bread crumbs so I used crackers.

I also added about a tablespoon of “Clubhouse Lemon & Herbs” one step seasoning.

They were to die for.

Disappointments from the menu:

(aka NOT making it again)

Crockpot lasagna

WAY too much ricotta cheese.

No flavouring.

It was disappointing.

Things that we didn’t get to try:

Veggie burgers, I didn’t have buns so they became veggie burritos

Tacos, we had leftover burritos

Quinoa spinach cakes, we slept in super late and only had breakfast and supper.

Focaccia bread, didn’t have time to make it

Over-all experience

For my first time, I think I did well.

I found that I wasn’t as stressed around dinner time which was nice.

Now all I have to do is plan next weeks menu!

Foodie post.

Standard

I love food. Seriously love it. I have been known to eat all sorts of crazy things when offered.

So when Hot Baby Daddy told me what he was going to be making for supper, I decided to snap some pictures so that you might enjoy it too!

We have chicken in a white sauce with cheese, over green beans on a Demsters Thinfuls. So freaking amazing.

(disclaimer: I was not paid to write this. Dempsters did NOT in any way shape or form to even offer to pay for this.Tragic.

If you want me to do a review email me at kaitevans at gmail dot com)

So we started with a few of Demsters Thinfuls.

Green beans. Yum!We then added some mixed veggies, that had been steamed until they were tender.

Then the chicken was cooked, seasoned and diced.

Then we made a white sauce.

Kind of like this one but I added salt and pepper.

CHEESE.

Then we mixed the cheese into the white sauce. Yum.

Then we added the chicken into the cheesy white sauce.

We put the chicken mixture on the mixed veggies, which was on the thinfuls.

Then we added even more cheese, and baked it at 350f for about 10 minutes.

Seriously, it was amazing.

Even Little T enjoyed it…Well he enjoyed looking at it.

Love him.
